Mayor Harka Sampang was Recognized by the World Book of Records for Extraordinary Efforts in Dharan’s Development
Harka Sampang, the mayor of Dharan sub-metropolitan city in Nepal, has been recognized by the prestigious World Book of Records for his extraordinary efforts in promoting a culture of labor and achieving a significant milestone. 
Sampang was honored for his work in bringing water from the Kokaha River to Dharan, which was facing an extreme shortage of drinking water. He organized a voluntary labor contribution campaign, and after 98 days, the water was successfully diverted into the Pakuwa River.
This achievement is considered a major milestone in Dharan’s development, and it has earned Sampang the recognition of the World Book of Records. The organization cited Sampang’s “commendable efforts in promoting a culture of labor and achieving a significant milestone” as the reason for his award. 
Sampang is a self-made man who has come a long way from his humble beginnings. He was born into a poor family in Dharan, and he had to work hard to get an education. After graduating from college, he worked as a teacher for several years before entering politics.
Sampang was elected mayor of Dharan in 2022, and he has since made a number of significant contributions to the city’s development. In addition to bringing water to Dharan, he has also worked to improve the city’s infrastructure, create jobs, and provide better services to residents.
